Her passion for preserving jazz and blues led to the founding of Jazz on the Green over eleven years ago—a vibrant celebration of music and culture.
Her contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Joy Evans Award for Community Service, the VOICE Award, the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service, and most recently, the prestigious 2024 Joseph Biden Lifetime Achievement Award. Sharon is also an accomplished playwright, best known for her award-winning production, Meet Me on the Moon.
